VGen is World Vision Australia's official youth movement. VGen focuses on advocacy in local Australian communities to raise awareness and take action on issues of global injustice and poverty.

We are currently looking for VGen SA’s next leader! This role is open to be filled by one person (as a State Director) or by about five people (as a State Leadership Team). Because this is a time of change for VGen, we are happy for a team of keen leaders to share this responsibility and work together to lead and support VGen in 2017.
We’re looking forward to some exciting changes within VGen over the coming months, so this role will suit someone who is:
  • Flexible and good at rolling with change.
  • Passionate about VGen and its future potential.
  • Great at communicating the “big picture” and vision to others.
  • Happy to liaise closely with the Youth Advocacy Leader and keep the state in the loop with changes and information.
  • Ready to contribute ideas and work with other State Directors to shape VGen for the future.
  • Highly organised
The VGen State Director (or State Leadership Team) is responsible for leading and coordinating VGen action in South Australia. They report to the Youth Advocacy Leader, and a big part of their role is sharing information between their state and the national level of VGen.
Day To Day Responsibilities:
  • Developing campaign strategy with the national team
  • Regular meetings with the national Youth Advocacy Leader
  • Regular meetings with VGen leaders in the other states and territories of Australia
  • Relaying strategy and campaigns developed at the national level to the VGen members in SA,
  • Working with these members to adapt the strategy to state conditions, and coordinating the implementation of strategies and campaigns in the state
  • Coordinating, supporting and mentoring team members (including regular check ins with members)
  • Management of resources (including quarterly budgeting and management of collateral)
