Oaktree engages with over 180,000 youth and supporters across Australia. We are able to do this through our State branches which lead grassroots actions throughout the nation. These branches are run by an amazing group of leaders - and our Assistant State Directors are an important part of this

The Assistant State Director is essential in making sure members of the SA branch feel supported in their roles. You'll lead recruitment campaigns, design training modules to match the needs of your State - and you'll closely with all other State leaders to ensure that Oaktree has a cohesive national identity that all volunteers can be proud of.

As the SA Assistant State Director, your typical day could look like:

  • Creating relationships with groups within the community to ensure that a wide range of young people  are knowledgeable and excited by Oaktree's activities
  • Create PD's (like this!) to make sure people are aware of open positions in DA
  • Exploring different recruitment channels within the State
  • Leading a training session addressing the needs of the branch's volunteers
  • Taking a leading role reviewing the annual performance of part of your branch

Who we are looking for a Assistant State Director who:
  • Is excited in seeing those around them grow and improve
  • Has excellent communication skills, who understands that everyone learns differently
  • Enjoys using their initiative to address a wide range of problems, and are committed to solving whatever situations arise
  • Is driven to improve the efficiency of the working environment, and committed to achieving excellent results
We value will over skill, determination over degrees, and passion over years of experience

What you get out of it:

  • Get to work as a part of the senior leadership of the SA branch and have contact with Oaktree Executives
  • Improve your ability for self directed work, and grow practical skills which will hold you in good stead in a professional setting
  • Build your skills in recruitment and training, and enhance your network of like minded peers
  • Become a part of the Oaktree community and work with a dedicated group of like-minded young people
  • Contribute to nationwide strategies relating to a meaningful cause

We are committed to building a workplace and community that encourages, supports, and values diversity, We want to ensure that everyone;'s individuality can thrive, because you're at your best when you can be yourself. Find out more about how we can support you
