Oaktree engages with over 180,00 youth and supporters across Australia. We are able to do to this through our State Branches which lead grassroots actions throughout the nation. 



Our Campaign Coordinators are irreplaceable leaders which make this possible. As Campaign Coordinator, you will help implement and run the Community Ambassadors program. You will enable and be involved in powerful conversations with the public, MPs and other decision makers. You will work in a team to run weekly sessions to train an empower young people and help them to organise campaign actions while managing a team of 2-3 other volunteers.

As a Campaign Officer, you will be involved in high impact campaigning, public engagement and lobbying to influence decision makers around creating change for the issue of poverty.

As a Campaign Officer, a typical day might look like:

  • Implementing campaigning actions such as recruiting young people to meet with their MP
  • Taking part in phone-banking session, calling our supporters to gather support on our political campaigns
  • Contacting community groups to gather support on our political campaigns
  • Taking part in regular team meetings and one on one meetings with the Outreach Coordinator
We are looking for someone who:
  • Is passionate about ending poverty poverty through grassroots action
  • With strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Is confident, innovative, and comfortable learning in fast paced environments
  • Can work well both independently and in a team
  • Can help build a positive volunteer experience and work culture
